Chicken Wire Glass Jar Sleeves

I have a quick and easy project to share today.

I've become slightly obsessed with chicken wire lately, so when I started decorating the kitchen I thought it was the perfect place to add a little.

Here is one of the project I came up with.

Simple sleeves of chicken wire to slip on and off glass jars - I guess you could call them jar cozies too.

I used two wide mouth, half pint jars that I found at the thrift store.

Next I just wrapped the chicken wire around the jar, cut it to fit with a little overlap and twisted the wire together in the back.  To make the chicken wire show up a little better, I brushed on a quick coat of black craft paint.

I really like how it turned out.

Don't the jars look cute filled with vintage silverware?

Hoping your having a fabulous day.
I'm so excited to be able to attend Junk Bonanza this afternoon!!!

Talk to you soon,

Did you cut up your hands bending and cutting the wire? the wire seems somewhat dark? The dark paint is great. Good idea... :)

  19. I love your little chicken wire cozies.... it was very clever to paint the wire
black, I think it really adds a bit of flair! I just made a moss garden in a
jar, I think I made add a wire cozy to dress it up....
    Thanks for sharing~
