Handmade Christmas Decor Roundup

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the crafting!

I look forward to it all year long and start planning for it well in advance of December first.

Creating tiny treasures to spread cheer throughout my home is such an enjoyable way to spend my time on chilly December days.  Plus I feel it adds such a wonderful personality to my home.

I thought it would be fun to highlight only handmade creations since it seems to me I've added quite a few things this year . . .  hence, today's post.

Lets start in the kitchen and the adorable red and white stockings.
You can find a tutorial for them here.

The first project of the season was these fun beaded ornaments.  The girls and I had so much fun with these and we made more than we probably should have - - it was hard to stop.  You'll find a tutorial for them here if you'd like.

A hand painted sign was also added to the mix.

For the living room I made some wood star cut outs but simply cutting out a star shape from scrap 1X6's.  I then painted and distressed them.

A pretty medallion crafted from a book page, tinsel pipe cleaners, ribbon and a scrapbook sticker adds a nice touch to a lantern.

I also made some homemade artwork crafted from fabric, paint and bakers twine.  Love how this one turned out.

To continue the star theme I have going, scrapbook paper was cut, inked and glued together to make another piece of homemade artwork.  The red crochet circle in the middle is a scrapbook sticker and adds a nice pop of red.

A simple grouping a rolled sheet music was a very quick and easy project.

I rolled the sheet music into scrolls, hot gluing the back sides to hold them together.  Then I stacked them up and added a little glue to hold the stack together as I added each layer.  To add some sparkle, I wrapped the whole think in ribbon, added a bow and then hot glued a wood star shape with silver glitter to the middle of the bow.

Simplest project ever!  Takes like ten minutes tops!  Looks pretty good in a display too!

A fold book page wreath was added to the chalkboard in the dinning room.  I have a tutorial on how to make it here.

In the bedroom a book page tree adds a little charm to the bedside table.
I have a tutorial of it here if you'd like.

Here's another quick and easy project.
A vintage Christmas graphic was place on top of a piece of scrapbook card stock.  Tinsel pipe cleaners were glued around the edges of the graphic and then the whole thing was hung on the wall with the help of a vintage clothes hanger.  Took a whole five minutes to finish this one - not that is simple.

To decorate the table on Christmas day, I made simple place cards from book pages.  After tearing a page out of a book, I used decorative scissor to cut off the margins.  Then a rubber stamp was used to stamp a tree shape unto the page and finally the letter stamps were used to add names.

And last but not least,  a hand painted deer pillow was sewn together.  I have a tutorial for it here if you like to know more.

And that's it!

bye now,

Robin

  16. Oh my, I love each and every little thing! I think I pinned every picture. I love paper crafts and your style is so similar to mine! You are one talented lady for sure. I also love your vintage deer collection. I have been keeping my eye out for some. So far I have a couple of whites ones my cousin gave me and a Santa & sleigh with white deer. No brown deer have crossed my path yet. I would love if you linked this to my link party, Share Your Cup Thursday. It's going on now. It's all about sharing the things that make you happy. It's easy to see that crafting does just that!
