Good Morning!
Now that Thanksgiving has passed we can all turn towards decorating for Christmas guilt free!
I for one am very excited since Christmas decorating has no equal in my book.
This Holiday Season I'm going for a white on white look for my living room so I've been looking for ways to add texture to the room without breaking the bank.
A quick and easy way to do this is to add a few throw pillows into the mix.
I had some leftover swirl fur from my Faux Fur Cowl project and sewing two quick pillow covers seemed like the perfect way to both use up the remaining fabric and add some texture to my two arm chairs.
At the last minute, I decided to use the swirl fur only on the front of the pillow and for the backside I used a sturdy white canvas material.
In the end it was a good choice; the canvas gives the pillowcover a little more structure than the super soft, swirl fur cannot. Plus, sewing only one layer of fur instead of two made the project much easier.
I won't bore you with a pillow slipcover tutorial but just in case your in need of one I'll share a link from a while back you could take a look at if you'd like here.
The new slipcovers look so cozy and inviting . . . even the kids agree since they mysteriously keep disappearing into their rooms from time to time.
Hope you have a wonderful day,
Bye now,
Robin

ReplyDeleteWhy thank you! I love how cozy it looks and feels. Makes me want to make something else with the little scraps of fabric I have leftover. LOL.

ReplyDeletehugs from here...
LOL, it's beginning to become a joke. They'll now take them and stash them randomly around the house and then laugh hysterically when I realize they are once again missing! I have rotten kids! LOL.
DeleteWhat a fab cushion cover, very snug for the winterX
ReplyDeleteVery Nice.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cozy and inviting looking. I can see why your kids keep steeling them!

Even my sweet, adorable dog Shelby is getting in on the action. If a pillow happens to hit the floor she drags it off to a corner and settles in for a nap. I am hoping the fascination will be over soon so everyone will leave my pretty pillow where they belong!! LOL
DeleteBeautiful!! I can't wait to see the rest of your Christmas decor...
ReplyDeleteSo soft and cuddly - definitely would be my favorite place to sit! xo
ReplyDeleteYour pillows look so warm and cozy. Perfect accent for this time of year!
