If you ask me what my favorite holiday treat is, I'd answer without hesitation . . .
CANDY CANES
I love them.
I eat dozens of them every December.
It's not surprising at all that they've inspired some of my holiday decorating in the kitchen.
The top shelf is very much like last years display. I'm still in love with the bottle brush wreath. I think it looks so nice against the white plate.
The bottom shelf is a mix of old and new items.
Red bottle brush trees I've had for years . . .
A vintage pitcher is also a reused items. The candy canes inside seem to be disappearing at an alarming speed. I'll have to stock up next time I'm at the store.
The candy cane striped frame is a new this year. It was one of the first holiday craft projects I completed this winter. I distressed and stained it heavily to give it a vintage feel and I'm so happy with the results.
A vintage inspired sticker is the only adornment the frame needed.
Oh, and in case I run out of candy canes before I get to the store, a dish filled with peppermint puffs will work in a pinch.
So festive, Robin! Amazing job on the frame, the vintage sticker is perfect!

I love red and white. Every time I say that I'm not going to use red at Christmas, a little sneaks in! The peppermint frame is absolutely adorable! I can't believe you made it...you should consider selling some!
ReplyDeleteVery festive! I love your red and white frame with the little santa. That turned out really cute...it has a nice vintage look. We're a bunch of candy cane addicts too. I just bought more the other day.

Love your sweet candy cane decor! The frame is so adorable! I've put some candy canes in canning jars around the house and one day I found my two year old hiding underneath the dining room table eating one! It was so funny!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet words. Then I found your blog. I love those mini trees you make. They are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice wednesday
