I recently started collecting vintage Bibles.
It's a small collection. Two Bibles and one Common Prayer book.
The petite, tattered versions call out to me.
At first I had them stored away in a room not often used. But just last week I moved them into our living room and made a display with them on my desk.
Every since, these well worn books of hope, faith, and love have become a gentle daily reminder to me.
A single glance throughout my busy day reminds me to set a better example for my family . . . to pray more often . . . to show more compassion.
They are beautiful books, inside and out.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
Robin

ReplyDeleteGreat collection! I have my great grandmothet's German bible. A real treasure to me.
ReplyDeleteI also love old bibles and prayer books, I have a few, I should put them together and make a vignette, you've inspired me with your lovely little display. They are a sweet and gentle reminder, aren't they.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I just came across your blog and am taking a cold, rainy, winter day to look through your back blog posts. We have a few old Bibles from parents, and grandparents, this will be a great way to display them. I've just kept them on another book shelf kind of out of the way. They are treasured though.
