Front Porch and Kitchen Holiday Decor

Good Morning!

Yesterday I shared photos of my Holiday Home Tour.  Thanks to all of you that have left so many sweet comments about it.  I appreciate it so much.

As promised, I'll be highlight individual rooms in the upcoming week.

There's no better place to start things off than with the front door and the kitchen . . .  so lets get to it.

We received a new dusting of pretty, fluffy snow just in time for photos.

A new lantern from Target adds a little character to the twinkle light wrapped post.  By the way I love this lantern . . .  It's battery operated and has a timer.  Sweet!

At the base of the post I added a over-sized lantern.  Inside I placed a rusty galvanized bucket filled with fresh cut tree trimmings from the back yard and a grapevine sphere that lights up at night.

On the other side of our tiny entry I added a few other seasonal touches like a wreath, a pair of ice skates along with a bucket filled with firewood and another metal bucket filled with more fresh cut pine.

The girls wrapped one of the buckets with twinkle lights that turns out looks very nice at night.

Moving inside and on to the kitchen this little shelf area next to my desk space is always a fun place to decorate.

I look forward to using my red and white Christmas decorations every year throughout the house but the kitchen always seems to turn out being my favorite.

The red bottle brush tree's I've had for years as well as the bottle brush wreath hanging on the frame above.  The white deer and sleigh were newly purchased just last December.

Below the shelf I've added some more fun items.

I love this view of the kitchen eating area, doesn't it look so festive and cheerful?

On the table a pretty red and white striped runner and a mixture of holiday items make a quick and easy centerpiece that is a snap to move out of the way when the girls need to do homework.

Above the shelf behind the table I've hung my newly painted sign and on the shelf itself a little village of red and white houses.

Hanging from the shelf I've added newly sewn ticking striped Christmas stockings . . .

And a couple beaded stars.
I have a tutorial on how I made the stars here.
They are so quick and easy to make it's silly.

My favorite part of this whole display just has to be the houses.  They make me smile.

Of course, glittered white deer help too!

The sweet little cabin I painted last year . . .

The two red glitter houses I've made in previous years.
All together they make such a pretty display don't you think?

Finally, over at the kitchen sink I've added a few more touches of red and white.

Two more beaded stars hang in the window.  They look so pretty when the sunlight shines in.

A simple white platter filled with a candle and handful of red ornaments make a quick and easy addition.  To round things out, I added some greenery and tiny, tart tins with tea lights.  I don't know about you but I love to see candles glowing on windowsills this time of year.

Hope you all have a wonderful day,

bye now,

Robin

  1. I just found your blog and wanted to say I love all your vintage Christmas reds and greenery! May I ask if you made that gorgeous farmhouse table? I like that its more petite size and would be awesome in my new space. I just posted my Holiday home-lots of fun! Happy Holidays! Kris
