Dare to . . . Entertain!

Kim from NewlyWoodwards is hosting her blog party again this week and I'm joining in!

Dare to DIY

I've cheated a bit by only setting up one place setting,

those pesky kids wouldn't allow a whole table setting ALL WEEK LONG!

No matter, let's get to it.

I  like keep things very simple.

I try not to fill up the table with lots of stuff in the middle since once all the tableware is placed around and the food brought in it fills up fast.  Plus I dislike fighting with the decorations when the serious business of eating begins - Ha Ha!

I'll add my favorite candelabra, a few votive candles and that's about it to the middle of the table.

This year I've added a few faux leaves around the base of the candelabra which adds a nice touch of fall and ties in with my Thanksgiving shelves.

Instead of centerpieces, I like to focus on the placecards.

They can be so fun and festive.  Plus they are small and don't get in the way.

Continuing with my turkey silhouette theme, I made a rosette with a turkey in the middle.

I just love them.

I also quickly sewed together a few extra napkins with sweet ruffly edges.

I love the simple classic look the tablesetting has.

Instead of fighting for space at the table we will all be able to focus on what's really important this Thanksgiving..

the people gathered around the table.

Until tomorrow,

Robin

p.s. tomorrow I'll have a tutorial up showing how I made the placecards
