A Coffee Filter Wreath

Over the holidays I had an opportunity to get a little crafty.

For ages, I've been wanting to try my hand at making a coffee filter wreath.

I know you all have seen them.  If your anything like me, you've probably been drooling over them just like I have been!

Since I planned to use the wreath in a slightly unconventional way, I used a base of form board cut into a donut shape.

After a little experimenting, I had the technique down and the wreath went together very quickly.

You may have noticed a sneak peek yesterday when I was showing off my new table runner,

Here's a close up.

I place the wreath on one of my favorite cake stands . . .

Then added a flameless candle to the middle.

A slightly larger candle would probably look better, but I'm trying to use what's on hand instead of running to the store.

I love how it turned out and it looks so pretty dressing up the dinning room table.

How about you, have you made yourself one yet?

Hope you all have a fabulous day,

  1. That is really cute! I like how you put it on your cake plate with a candle. I've not made one yet and keep thinking I should. Thanks for sharing!

  2. So cute! I just love this wreath!!!

  3. Your wreath looks so pretty! I think the coffee filter wreaths are perfect for winter because they look like fluffy snow. Maybe you could put a tuna fish can under your candle to raise it up a bit. I'm always raiding the pantry for my vignettes. Cans are nice and sturdy and have flat tops so they work well for propping things.

  4. I love how you displayed it! I am itching to make one, I have all the stuff for a while now, just need to sit down and do it! :)

  5. The coffee filter ruffles are so pretty! Looks very nice sitting on your table with the new runner! :)

  6. Very pretty Robin! I need to make one soon....I bought a package of coffee filters the other day...I don't drink coffee but I saw them and figured I could use them somehow...this would be perfect. Which instructions did you use?

  7. What a unique way to use this! I love making these wreaths, but I've never thought to use them like this! Love it.

  8. Very very pretty, Robin; I love it. I may have to try it. Did you hot glue or just glue them on? I have a bunch of those flameless candles and love them.

  9. I keep thinking of making one, but haven't got around to it yet. I like how it's a table centerpiece now. Very cute!

  10. I love this! So cute on the cake stand, too. What a simple centerpiece that is so adorable.

  11. It's so pretty! Looks great on the table, too. I gotta try this.

  12. This is my kind of thrifty! Love your creativity, love that you used what was on hand. I wouldn't have known they were coffee filters if I hadn't read it, very pretty!

  13. Your wreath is adorable! Love the way you're using it. Something new and different. Also love your table runner. I love red year round too. Mimi

  14. Hello Robin,
Your wreath turned out just gorgeous and it's so romantic! Can't wait to see more of your projects in 2011. You're so talented!
