The Little Cabin In The Woods

This past weekend the girls and I joined Grandma and Grandpa for a day trip to the little cabin in the woods.  It was cold - very cold but it didn't dampen our spirit.

In order to get to the cabin, we loaded up these . . .

and drove down trails like this . . .

To do a little of this . . .

Winter is a great time for bomb fires and it's an event I look forward to.
All summer long as we work on clearing the woods around the cabin, the burn pile slowly grows larger. Our hard work is rewarded on fine winter days like this.  We sit for hours tending the fire, relaxing and chatting.

I had also been looking forward to trying my hand at cooking on the wood stove.

It took a little trial and error, but I finally figured it out.

I feel positively pioneer!

Tasty, warm pancakes!
(can you hear me giggling!)

After lunch we tended to the bomb fire a little more then did a little of this!

All in all, it was an enjoyable weekend which we'll all remember for a long time to come.

Until tomorrow,
Robin
