It's the first of March and I have a confession.
Bleary eyed this morning as my foggy brain wrapped itself around the fact that it was the first day of March, I glanced around my room and my eyes settled on this. . .
Ahhh, Yep! Embarrassing enough I still have Christmas decorations in my bedroom.
Muttering to myself things like "unbelievable" and "ridiculous" I vowed somehow - someway I had to carve out a little time today to replace that wintery village.
Truth be told, in January I was loving it so much I wasn't ready to part with it.
Then February arrived and inspiration was playing hide and seek, so I let it slide a little longer.
No longer. It needed to be dealt with - - today!
Something fast and quick was necessary.
I picked a few favorite items I thought might work together.
After arranging them until I liked the look this is the result.
Vintage clocks.
Empty chippy frames.
A grouping of candles.
Simple and pretty.
Not too shabby for a ten minute project.
I'm still amazed it took me so long!

ReplyDeletep.s. you're excused for the decorations still being up because 1) they were white and 2) it is STILL the dead of winter here!

I love what you did with the shelves, very cute! I bet you smile every time you walk in your room and those Christmas decorations are gone and that is in it's place. And only 10 minutes!

Hi Robin,
ReplyDeleteYour shelf looks lovely, I love vintage clocks. You are very creative. Your little houses with the snow were beautiful, but this is very, very pretty.
Hugs,cindy
You are making me want to run out and buy some vintage alarm clocks. Looks very nice. I still have some pine boughs on my kitchen table, so maybe it's time for me to find a spring replacement.
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to let the wintery Christmas decorations stay up when we're buried under snow, Robin! Tour new design looks wonderful!!

Not shabby at all, Robin! Your vintage clock collection has me envious--they have such character. And the texture of the chippy frames, glass and candles are gorgeous in combination. After seeing your mantel and then a tutorial on building one at another blog, I'm looking at the bare space over my bed and seriously thinking about making one now. Did you make yours or buy it?
ReplyDeleteP.S.--You're not the only one with her bottle brush trees and winter houses up well into February! I *just* took mine down on Sunday. I categorize these things as winter decorations, so they stay out for most of winter. Now that it's March, though, I am itching for spring decorations and flowers! :)
Looks great! I love the simple classic feel of it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good, I love all the clocks,

Love your clocks and frame Robin! Don't feel bad. You worked hard on those glitter houses, so they deserved more time on display. :)
