When it comes to drawing or painting, I'm about the least talented person you'll ever meet.
Regardless, I've been determined to include a painting in my bathroom makeover to add a pop of color to the space.
I looked high and low for something without much luck. In desperation, I thought I'd try my hand at painting something.
I've been drawn to modern pieces lately. I love the mix of color and texture. The way the colors seem to melt into each other is beautiful. Plus I figured it couldn't be too hard.
Well . . . I was wrong! It. Is Very. Hard.
I spent most of the morning working on it and this is what I came up with - - Don't laugh!
All right, go ahead and laugh . . . you know I am.
Even though I'm not crazy about it I still plan to use it until I can find a replacement. It has the right colors for the room which is what I wanted in the first place.
If anyone has any suggestions about where I should go for artwork I would really appreciated the help!
I actually think it's very good...the colors blend perfectly. To me, it looks like overlooking the ocean into the clouds. I think you should be proud of yourself and quit looking for something else! :)
ReplyDeleteI also think this ethereal painting of yours is just lovely!.., A real keeper!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like overlooking the ocean through the clouds and seaside mists!
Cheers from Wanda Lee
P.S. I am your newset follower;(perhaps you'll also consider following me).
Well done on your painting. It takes a lot of courage to try something new and you have done a fantastic job. I paint in oils and I know how hard it is get something looking how you want it to. Even if you find a replacement piece of artwork, don't throw your painting out. You should be very proud of your achievement.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing the ocean on a very misty morning in your painting. I love the way you've merged the colours together. Oh and I didn't laugh, I enjoyed.
I'm hoping you might try another painting sometime and show us what you have done.

You're painting is really pretty - you did a great job! It is very hard to find artwork - it seems like all of the stores have the same stuff - boring!! Your painting is a keeper and I love your "brush your teeth sign" also. I need one of those for my kids! Can't wait to see your finished bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice--honestly! It's a beautiful color and it is very soothing... perfect for the bedroom. It think you should keep using it!

Robin...I like it!!! It is an abstract...you can not get much better than that!
ReplyDeleteWell, I kind of like it. Don't forget to sign it so you can take full credit for it. Mimi
ReplyDeleteI like it VERY much and I'm not laughing!!! I have been wanting to try something like this for a while. I even have an insriration photo of a modern painting I want to somewhat imitate. I have two questions for you...What kind of paint did you use and did you paint on canvas or a piece of wood?
