Fun Finds

Good Morning!

This week I've found a few new to me items to share today.

The first of which is a new candle holder.  At least I think that's what it is . .

Originally it was brass which I didn't much care for but I loved the detail.

A quick coat of black paint and a little distressing made all the pretty detailing stand out.

After adding two small glass tea-light holders to each arm I found a place for it on the small side table in the living room.  Mixed with some old sheet music and a vintage clock I think it makes a lovely little display.

This next find will come in handy next month.  I couldn't believe it was selling for only two dollars!  I'm really into anything crocheted lately so this sweet pillow was a perfect match for me.

And finally, I found this cute little dog figurine with a chipped ear.  Isn't he sweet, broken ear and all.  No way was I passing him up.

Oh, and one more thing before I go.

This past week you all gave me the nicest of Birthday wishes and I just wanted to say thank you once again for being so sweet and such wonderful friends.
And speaking of sweet, hubby came home with a bundle of pretty roses and a Menards gift certificate for me . . . BEST GIFT EVER!  He was a little worried that I wouldn't think it was "birthday - worthy"  I fear.  But I'm a simple girl and put his mind at ease right away.  I told him "he could give me flowers and gift certificates any time he wants"  LOL.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend,

see you next week,

Robin

  5. Great finds. I think that candle holder was made to burn incense on. I remember them from the 60's and 70's. They were pretty popular and always brass. It looks so much better with votives and painted black. Love your little dog, too. I have a dog collection from my childhood but it is packed away. I think I must have close to 100 dogs-most of them given to me by my wonderful old Auntie. I should get them out again. That one is REALLY cute!!!!!
Love coming to visit you- xo Diana

  6. ps- The incense used to come in little pressed cones that were about an inch high and burned completely down slowly to ash.

  10. Hi robin, I haven't been around much, I just have too much on the go right now, but wanted to tell you that I love the sweet little things that you picked up this week, the little dog is adorable. I also looked through at what I've missed and pinned the neck warmer tutorial on my "sewing" board. I have been wanting to make one of those, soon I hope!
