Quick and Easy Cozy Flannel Blanket

Digging my stash of flannel shirts out of storage is one of my favorite things about fall.

I am crazy about flannel!

I wear it just about every day!

So when I wanted to include a new throw blanket in the living room to add some color and texture to the space it didn't take me long at all to jump on the idea making it out of flannel.

It's Soft. . . It's Warm . . .  It's Plaid!

Did I mention I'm crazy about plaid too!

What's more perfect than Plaid Flannel??

There is just no better fabric for fall.

Also the perfect way to add some color and texture to your room.

Plus it's a simple five minute project which makes it even better.

Supply List

2 yards of flannel fabric

scissors

thread

sewing machine


Pick out a nice heavy weight flannel at the fabric store, prewash and iron if needed (I didn't bother).

The two long side seams already had a nice edge to them so I left them alone and moved on to the two raw edges at either end of the fabric.

Create a quick hem on each of the raw edges by folding the fabric over twice to encase the raw edge, pin in place.

Then simply sew a straight line along the length of the fabric, removing the pins as you go.

As quickly as that you will have a new flannel blanket to throw over a chair or on the sofa for the next time your ready to cozy up with a good book! 

Or a puppy as in this case.  
Shelby Girl didn't give up her new spot for a couple of hours!

The kids have discovered it also . . . 

I have a hard time keeping track of it as kiddos wonder off with it all the time.

May have to sew up a couple more just so everyone can have one.  LOL.
