I heart old hanging match holders. It's nicely distressed and I adore the letter style. Not to mention they come in very handy. I always know where my matches are. Today I hung my new treasure in the kitchen. Look my collection is growing, and looking all sweet and helpful. 
I like match holders. I don't have need for matches as I don't have a fireplace but old holders and even old match boxes and books just appeal to me. Enjoy your "new" treasures
