This past weekend I rediscovered a favorite photo clipped from a magazine years ago.
It's been so long I can't even say which magazine it's from.
I loved it then,
I love it now.
I've been on a big red and white kick lately.
These beautiful examples fit right in.
I love the simplicity of the stitches, yet the overall look is stunning.
My embroidery skills are extremely rusty, but I'm feeling the urge to give it a go.
I'm thinking along the lines of a pillow or a quick throw blanket for the living room.
I'll keep you posted.

Lovely photo~ the linens are beautiful and I love the red and white! We have a piece of redwork from my husband's great grandmother...
ReplyDeleteLove redwork and love that picture too. there are lots of tutorials on the internet for a little refresher on embroidery. Such a fun thing to do. Mimi
ReplyDeleteFun for you! Can't wait to see what you do...
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the love of red, Robin! Red is absolutely cheery, especially in the drab months of winter. I find myself particularly drawn to the warmth of red in the fall and winter, then the coolness of blue in the spring and summer. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat linens....
ReplyDeleteI love red and white too! Those are lovely...

Beautiful. I'd love to see you make a "quick throw". I haven't embroidered since I was a child, so I'd love a short tutorial on the basics.
ReplyDeleteI love redwork too! What an inspirational picture--be sure to show us the results if you make them.
