A Rediscovered Favorite

This past weekend I rediscovered a favorite photo clipped from a magazine years ago.

It's been so long I can't even say which magazine it's from.

I loved it then,

I love it now.

I've been on a big red and white kick lately.

These beautiful examples fit right in.

I love the simplicity of the stitches, yet the overall look is stunning.

My embroidery skills are extremely rusty, but I'm feeling the urge to give it a go.

I'm thinking along the lines of a pillow or a quick throw blanket for the living room.
I'll keep you posted.

  4. I hear you on the love of red, Robin! Red is absolutely cheery, especially in the drab months of winter. I find myself particularly drawn to the warmth of red in the fall and winter, then the coolness of blue in the spring and summer. :)

  8. Beautiful. I'd love to see you make a "quick throw". I haven't embroidered since I was a child, so I'd love a short tutorial on the basics.
