Updated Hutch

Good Morning, hope you had a great weekend!  We had beautiful weather and spent most of the weekend outside.  A big treat for us in this part of the country.

With all the outside playing going on, I did squeeze in a little time to finish my Thanksgiving decorating.  I don't do much so it was quick!

This time of the year my focus is on texture and warmth in terms of decorating.  Candles, vintage books, chunky distressed frames, a healthy dose of silver and white ironstone and of course grapevine.  I have a love/hate relationship with grapevine.  It's silly, but most of the year I can't stand to use it.  Once autumn sneaks up on me though, I can't get enough of it.

As like most area's in my home, I wanted to keep the hutch accessories simple.

Focusing on texture and a few favorite items.

White ironstone and a grapevine wreath look amazing together I think.

A chunky, distressed frame makes a great backdrop for a small pitcher filled with colorful leaves.

I just had to add a few clocks for a little graphic layering.

Nothing overly fancy.

Yet pleasing to the eye.

And full of texture.

Enjoy your day,
Robin

  2. Ooh, Robin, this looks so nice! This may sound weird, but your decorating always looks so light, bright and fresh! You are right, the white ironstone (my absolute favorite) and grapevine is a great duo!

  4. Very pretty! You can never go wrong with the old book, tarnished silver and ironstone combo in my book!
Love the flatware in the pitcher.

  6. Heather's remark about the lightness and brightness of your decorating is so true. It's something I've thought many times when visiting here but had never put it into words.

Anyway, once again, I'm in love with one of your vignettes! I think fall decorating is best done with simple, natural materials like you used, complemented with various textures. Well done!

    Take care,
    Erin
