Fabric Lined Milk Crate

On top of the refrigerator is the space I have designated to hold the kids school lunchboxes.

The crazy, cluttered look it produces has been getting on my nerves just a little too much lately and I decided to come up with a way to store the lunchboxes - with a  little vintage, farmhouse flair.

A few years ago I picked up this black, chipped metal milk crate.

Yesterday I sewed together a simple fabric liner.

It's now the perfect place to stash lunchboxes!

Have a great day,

  1. Genius! It looks so cute too! I love cute storage!

  2. Aren't lunch boxes the most ugly things? I usually toss the kids lunch bags under the sink on weekends. Your basket is a much prettier solution!

  3. No way! That is too cute. I have a lunchbox on my kitchen counter this very minute and I hate looking at it. Good solution!

  4. Robin- What a perfect solution~ I love it!!!

  5. LOVE this idea, Robin...it could hold so many different things! Looks wonderful!

  6. Great disguise! Grungy lunchboxes are the worst!

  7. Great idea! I love to stash things away in great looking pieces like that! Now no one but you (and all of us) will ever know they are up there. :)

I love hearing from you. Thanks for stopping by!
