In the mood to sew!

I've been itching to do a little sewing lately. 

Do you ever get like that?

I sure do,

 at times months will go by without a single stitch being sewn then all of a sudden it's all I want to do.

I wanted something fun and simple to allow myself to enjoy the process.  With Valentines Day on my mind I wanted to create something that would work for it but yet not necessary be Valentine specific if that makes sense.

I finally decided to make mini cushions to fill bowls or baskets and add a pop of red.  You know me,  I have to have red.

I have to say, this project was fun!

I used bits and pieces of scrap fabric in all my favorite prints that I couldn't bare to part with.    It was the perfect way to use the adorable stripes from a vintage grain sack.  

Truth be told, I may have gotten a little carried away.  

In my excitement, I made over fifteen of these mini cushions.  Much more than I know what to do with but it was a very enjoyable way to spend an hour of my time.

The mini cushions didn't cure my sewing bug so I decided to try making a few small hearts.  

I added a little ribbon or jute string to a few in order to hang them.

The little hearts have made their way unto all of the bedroom doorknobs.

The sewing bug may have been satisfied for the moment but I'm pretty sure because of the fun I've had with these two simple sewing projects it may come back sooner rather than later.
