New Kitchen Display

I recent thrift store find inspired a change-up on the small shelf I have hanging in the kitchen.

The space had been looking a little lonely of late.

I wanted something calming and simple.

Take a look at these beauties!!!

I've been on the look out for a pair for years and this is the first set I've come across in reasonable condition in my price range.  I'm pretty sure they are silver plated but I just can't bring myself to care - besides it's the look I'm going for - could care less if it's the real deal or a wonderful fake.

I adore these footed, swirled, fluted, sparkling beauties.

Pretty sure I'm in love!

Speaking of love,
the first of my Valentine decor has found the perfect place to hang out.
I adore vintage Valentine card  - - wish I had more.

Oh!  Did you notice the baby clothes pins?
Adorable right.

I just picked them up the other day and I'm fascinated by them.  I'm loving them unfinished but I'm thinking it would be fun to paint a few in pretty colors or add scrapbook paper to them.

What would you do?
Leave them alone or pretty them up?

  1. This is such a pretty display. I love your salt and pepper shakers. Silver plated or sterling silver they are great! Love the chicken wire frame! Adorable!!

  2. They are so pretty, I'm like you I could care less about the real deal as long as it's the look I'm going for! Love salt and pepper shakers, although I only collect holiday ones!

  3. What a blast! Besides having a great grasp of perspective, what a great…grasp of perspective…such artists have to pour so much heart into something so ephemeral.

  4. I love this vignette Robin, it is simple and lovely. The chicken wire frame is perfect for your pretty little valentine cards.

  5. I like them au naturale, but I have seen some painted pink with glitter that I thought were pretty fancy. Your new salt and peppers are gorgeous. Love the patina on them (or whatever you call the aged silver look).

  6. This is so pretty, Robin...great finds! I love the frame idea, too...I need to try it!

  7. Hi Robin, what a lovely idea, this display! I love vintage cards too, they're so pretty! I hadn't ever found a vintage Valentinecard, hope I will find some.
    Have a nice day!

    xx Margriet

  8. Robin, I love this arrangement! It would look perfect in my home. :) I like the clothespins either way ... plain or decorated.

  9. So pretty. Loving all of your pretty whites.

  10. Was out shopping this past weekend and visited a few antique shops and I did see some old vintage valentine cards. I have a few that are Christmas cards with letters. Love them. I also love your Ironstone, I did find this weekend a Ironstone bone dish. Have a great week andi thewednesdaybaker

  11. What a lovely vignette! I'm on the lookout for some vintage Valentines too! And I kind of like the natural clothes pins!

  12. Such a charming little display! Love the salt and pepper shakers. The clothespins are adorable. I think the clothespins look great natural but painted would be cute too. Maybe pink, blue, or green with a simple little dot pattern on them. So glad I saw this over at Elizabeth & Co. Sharon

  13. What a lovely post! Thanks for the ALL WHITE inspiration! Matches the snow outside:)
