With spring here, my mind has turned towards all things gardening.
I've spent the past few years figuring out my favorite plants to grow and I feel as if my gardens are looking pretty much as I would like them.
I'll be adding a few more plants of course, what gardener can resist something new?
But for the most part my focus won't be one the plants this summer.
Instead, I'll be focusing on structures or ornaments to add a little cottage interest to the garden beds.
Classic, simple items that will enhance the garden, and hopefully shift the eye away from the weedy mess come August! LOL.
I've been looking around in hopes of inspiration. I've gathered a list of sorts . . .
A wish list really, of all the things I would love to add to my landscape.
A pyramid trellis, or two, painted white.

A birdhouse . . . .
Or perhaps two!

An Arbor over the entrance to the vegetable garden would be very nice.

Maybe something homemade would be fun, like this . . . .

Or maybe this . . . .

Oh, and of course some urns filled with pretty flowers are a must!

Have I forgotten something?
What would you add?
Oh! almost forgot!
This addition would be the ultimate don't you think?
I'd surround it with flowers and shrubs
Have a great day,
Robin
Hi Robin,
ReplyDeleteI love all of your garden ideas, they are fabulous and your garden will definitely look cottage-y. I sure hope you get to implement some of these plans, because I want to see it.
I would like to have all of those things in my gardens, too, come to think of it, especially that last one!
Hugs, Cindy
I'm with you! I especially love the red trellis. It may be spring in WI but we have unseasonably cold weather and lots of snow on the ground still.
ReplyDeleteThose are all great ideas, Robin! I really love trellises, arbors, birdhouses, and pretty much all of it. We have a lot of work to do in our yard this year ~ now you have me thinking. I also wanted to tell you that I love your framed prints from your last post ~ gorgeous ~ the burlap looks so great with your prints!
ReplyDeleteLove every one of these beautiful ideas. There's so much to do in the yard and not enough time to do it. Thanks for the spring inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing garden ideas. I wish I could even see our lawn at this point-it's there somewhere under the snow. I do believe that all the structures really "make" a garden- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI came over from the comment you left on my post and fell in love with your blog. Love the garden inspirations here, then the framed prints with the burlap are gorgeous, but my favorite so far is that distressed farmhouse table. I have become a follower so I can keep up.
ReplyDeleteGreat garden inspiration! I would love an arbor some place in my yard.

I've been thinking of building two of the pyramid trellises for my side yard. That urn with the purple flowers is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your garden ideas. The outdoor room with fireplace is beautiful. I have a small fireplace and it is really great to set outside and light it or have dinner by it. I also like it in the winter (I'm in So CA) with some hot coffee and a throw. I'm sure whatever you decide will be stunning.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter.
Mary
I want every single thing you listed. I am also focusing on structural interest this summer not because I have the plant thing down though but because I don't ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice round up of ideas! My boyfriend and I are building the gardens at our very first home and I LOVE gathering ideas online. Of course I would need a million dollars to actually do them all, but it's fun to daydream! Thanks for stopping by The Frugal Freshman Homemaker. New follower here! Can't wait to see new posts as we get into spring!
ReplyDeleteI love your plans for the garden Robin. You and I are on the same page I think. I don't think I can squeeze too many more plants in the garden with out making more beds, but they could certainly hold some more structures.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing you old-new table and what you did with it. Beautiful!
Not that you asked for a vote...but I hope you make the pyramid trellis and tell us how it goes. I look forward to seeing what you come up with this summer!
ReplyDeleteYou have the most lovely gardens, Robin...can't wait to see what you add to them this year!
ReplyDeleteI'd love everything on your list too. Especially that outdoor fireplace! In my dreams. Mimi
