Fun Finds Friday

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Hope you have a wonderful day with the ones you love.

It's also Friday, which means it's time to show off some fun finds.

The first items I have to show today is a collection of vintage sheets I've been adding to for the past few months or so.  I plan to make some patchwork quilts using the fabric.  Here's a stack of what I've collected so far.

These sheets are all so soft and cozy feeling.  And I just love that the colors are slightly fading.
I think they will make wonderful quilts.

Their cheerful colors make me smile and wish for more sunshine!

This next item I found last week and thought it was a big score!

Red and white is my favorite and the pretty floral is a plus.

Perfect for my red and white bedroom.

I found a matching set and I'm loving the added detail the ties along the opening add.

And finally, last week I also found two more bedding items that I fell for instantly.

I am obsessed with white matelasse coverlets.  I use them all year round on my bed and on the girls beds whenever they will allow it.  Adding another one to the collection will not go wasted.

I also found a charming faded yellow chenille coverlet.  It's super soft and has an all over faded look to it that I love.  I debated about this one for a long time in the store because of the color. Yellow is not one of my go to colors, but in the end I just couldn't pass it up.  I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

Don't you just love the texture of these two items?

How about you, any fun finds this week?

Robin

  1. Wow, you hit the jackpot! I love the vintage sheets; I read on someone's blog that they use sheets as their quilt backing - how much better to use *vintage* sheets! I'll have to be on the lookout. Yes love the chenille and matelasse covers! The pillow covers are really pretty, great find. I haven't been out thrifting this week, let's blame it on the weather, but hoping to get out again soon. P.S. Happy Valentine's Day!

  2. Isn't it fun and rewarding to build a collection for a project! I wouldn't have passed up the matelasse coverlet either---I once bought one that had been cut up into very large squares!!!

  3. Wonderful finds.

I hope to "find" a metal chair at Tuesday Morning in an hour after reading their e-mail that they have the chairs again. My daughter stole my chair.

  4. With the weather we have been having here in Pa. I haven't been out thrifting in so long, not even to Goodwill. Love those sheets they look great just stacked on the chair but a quilt would be super!

  5. Love the sheets! They are so bright and colorful! I have some that I have picked up over the years at yard sales and such. I'm not a quilter, so I don't know what I will do with them, but I just can't part with them. Yours look so cute just folded and stacked!

  8. Hi Robin, visiting from your feature on MLJ....I also love vintage linens, and collec them every chance I get. I remember these sheets! I had the top two - yellow rose and blue daisy florals in 1977 - they were wedding presents, lol!
