A Hankering For . . . New Lighting

I am in desperate need of a new light fixture to replace the brassy, glass covered eye sore that is currently hanging in my Dinning Room.

We've lived in this house of over twelve years and I've always thought it was ugly but now for some reason I can't stand it a second longer!

Ever have that happen to you?

So I've been busily looking for a replacement and would love to know what you all think of what I've found!

    You can't go wrong with any of them, Robin! I especially like the last two! I'd love to see what the brass one looks like...any chance it has a nice style and could be repainted? Or is it a toss out?

    I love them all! Great choices! Can you photoshop each one into a picture of your dining room to help you visualize them there?

    I like your choice ... and you've made me even more determined to change out the ugly builder's grade ceiling florescent light in my otherwise nice kitchen. Thanks for the inspiration (as usual, Robin ;)

    I like the industrial make your own from found objects hanging lights.
    Google found objects industrial chandelier, and take a look at the ones using hanging spoons.

    I'm always drawn to crystals so I would pick the last one. They all have a classic look though, so you really can't go wrong.

    It's always hard to narrow it down to just one. But I would vote for number 1, 3, or the last one with the crystals without knowing the size of your space.

    I like all of them too, robin. I don't think this is going to help a lot though, is it. The last one is my favourite. Which one makes your heart just sing? That would be the right one, I think!

    Can your brassy old one be repainted in black ?

    I scrolled back for several pages to get a glimpse of your dining room...but couldn`t find a view.

    So, I will vote for # 3. (my personal fave)

    Hi Robin, I think that I am about to surprise you . . .think April 2010. That's right. I'm so happy for blogging archives. You made a slipcover for your couch and it turned out beautiful . . . I am thinking about doing just that. That or ordering one from Surefit. They do had a very pretty red mixed print one that I am in love with. Your post was very helpful. Now, I just have to make up my mind . . . sew or order, that is the question I'm dealing with. Any advice?
