Camper Quilt

In an effort to use up my large stash of leftover fabric, I decided yesterday to make a quick scrap quilt for the camper.

I began by cutting the fabric into strips four inches wide.  Next I pulled out my sewing machine and with no particular order started sewing the strips together until they reached the length I wanted.  After pressing the seams, each strip was sewn together one after the other to form the quilt top.

I decided against using any batting.  Instead I simply sewed the quilt top to a twin size fleece blanket. 

I laid the blanket, right side up on the floor - - added the quilt top, right side down on top of the blanket  -- then sewed it all together leaving an opening to flip it right side out.  Closed up the opening and ran a running stitch around the whole quilt about an inch inside the edge.  To finish it off I ran three running stitched down the middle of the quilt to hold the layers together better. 

That's it. 

Super easy quilt, although a little time consuming with all the fabric cutting.  I perfect way to use up bits and pieces of fabric.
