Tucked into the corner of the kitchen is a recently found favorite item.
A vintage step stool chair in the perfect shade a white.
For over a year, I'd been looking for one and was delighted to find this one a couple months ago. A better match would be hard to come by. It's slightly rusty and some of the disressing on the egdges of the seat show it's red undercoat - - see what a mean, perfect for my red and white kitchen.
The kids liked it as much as I did - - for weeks I'd find it all over the kitchen. I'm just now able to use it for what I bought it for. Display!
Love those legs!
I simply placed a few items to reinforce the kitchens theme colors and called it a day.
Man! I love easy projects.

What an adorable stepstool! It looks like it was just waiting for you to find it. I could use one of those myself. At 5'1", I wish there was some way I could attach a cute one like that and carry it everywhere I go! lol!
ReplyDeleteLove your new {old} kitchen find!! and the little hints of red are perfect!! So cool when old things find new homes and look so amazing!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove your stepstool. I found a rusty yellow one this summer and am using it on my deck right now.
ReplyDeleteHope your Monday is wonderful.
What a cute display.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I still have my grandmother's stool that is just like yours and was originally red as well. I've painted it twice to match my decor and it's currently black. I love it because it's not only super handy but has so many wonderful memories attached to it. Enjoy your find!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute, Robin...a whimsical display spot!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great find, I have always wanted one of those. I am still looking. I like what you displayed on it, too.

That's an awesome step stool! I love how vintage it looks. And the choppiness is lovely. My kids would be fighting over it all day! I love that bird house, too! So cool!
ReplyDeleteOk, I meant chippiness not choppiness. Sorry!!
ReplyDeletea real treasure, I like so much!
ReplyDeletebig hello from Madrid,

Love the stool. My father-in-law brought us over a similar stool, but it needs some help before it can be displayed. You are inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great stool! Love the folding out part. Oh, I saw your question on another post - i've used Antique White by Sherwin Williams - fabulous color! Linda
ReplyDeleteI really like that use for it! And you're right - it's the perfect rusty, tattered patina!
ReplyDeleteI love how you've decorated it! Great find. I used to have a wooden highchair in my kitchen that I would decorate, but every single time my nieces would come over they would throw (yes, throw!!!) my decor items onto the floor and pull the chair up to the island to sit on it. I gave up after a while and just used it for a chair. They are older now so I think I can safely pull it back out. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute. You don't seem to see too many of these lately. I love the coloring on this one! We have a yellow one that belonged to my husbands family....wish it was white! Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you are using the step stool. The ones I have seen were mostly in yellow.
ReplyDeleteI love these step stools! I love how you have decorated it! Very cool!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I never thought of using a chair for display. Love you birdhouse.
