The Autumn Hutch

Are you getting tired of looking at my Autumn decor?  Only a couple more post and I'll be done - promise!

I'm just so happy with this years results it's crazy.  So glad I didn't go the "spooky" route, this is much more me.

Of all the simple things I've done around the house to change things up for Autumn, I have to admit the hutch turned out to be my favorite.  Last Thanksgiving I did something similar and love it so much I found it hard to take it down to start decorating for Christmas.   I thought I would try to recreate it this year.

I tried to focus on three things:  ironstone, silver and grapevine.  I have to say I'm loving the results even more than last years effort.

On top of the hutch, I arranged my collection of grapevine sphere's around a swag of berries.

The top two shelves I've added my collection of vintage books.  I love displaying them with the pages showing, it adds such a great texture to the hutch.

I'm not sure why but I love this photo, so of course I had to throw it into the mix.  I think it's the simplicity that makes me love it so much.

Working or way down the hutch, the next shelf holds a grouping of items that I think work well together.  A distressed frame, a vintage clock and of course a lantern (typical me, LOL)

And of course irornstone, a pumpkin and a single leaf.

On the other side of the hutch I placed a distressed wood box filled with leaves, berries and pumpkins.

Moving on to my favorite set of shelves near the bottom I added a distressed frame, some ironstone and some silver.

I love the mix of textures and colors.

And I serisously love tiny, baby white pumpkins.

Another favorite photo which I have no words for other than . . . pretty . . . me like.

Below I've placed my kitchen scale with some pumpkins and this pretty Halloween mask that I picked up at Target.  Am I the only one that is loving the comeback of maskes?  I think they are so fun.

Opposite the previous self with the grapevine wreath I repeated the idea of the distressed frame with the wreath layered in front of it.  I used more ironstone dished, a pretty pedestle sugar dish and flanked it with two silver gravy boats which I'm crazy about.

Another photo that I love,  I just can't get enough of the layered look.  Which is weird since I'm normally a "just a couple things or it will look to cluttered" sort of girl.

And finally to finish off the hutch, a touch of simplicity.  You can't get more simple than a white bowl and a pumpkin.  Simple? . . .yes.  Stylish? . . . .you bet!

Hope you have a lovely day,

Robin

  1. Very eye-catching. I agree - your hutch is your best decor so far! I love the mix of items- natural, aged, coloured, white - it all goes together so well. You have balanced each shelf with the next, too. The overall effect is marvelous!
