Good Morning Everyone!
Hope you had a great weekend. Things were busy around here. On Saturday I was able to attend Junk Bonanza again with my mother. We had a fabulous time. I'm hoping to show off my newly acquired treasure tomorrow!
Today however I have yet another chicken wire project to share.
I know, I may be going a little chicken wire crazy but the stuff is sort of addicting and I'm having a great time playing with it. While I was making the glass jar sleeves I had a some leftover chicken wire and thought I would attempt to make a chicken wire cloche too!
Cute right?
I really had no idea what I was doing. I just sort of bent the wire a little here and there, cut off wire in other places and twisted it together in others. If you look close you can see the seam along the backside.
In the end I think it turned out pretty good and I have to admit I sort of love it. I brushed on some black paint to make it stand out a little more and now it has a spot on my kitchen shelf.
For the loop at the top, I twisted two pieces of craft wire together and then added it to the top of the cloche.
I was so happy with the results I decided to make another one just to see if I could. I realize now I probably should have taken pictures to share but at the time I was having too much fun and not really thinking about blogging.
I'm pretty sure I'll be making more of these in the days to come.
I ran out of chicken wire with these two cloches. Once I get some more I'd love to make a few that are not so tall and bigger at the base.
Have a great day and I'll talk to you soon,
Robin
That turned out great! How in the world do you get it so symmetrical? I feel like my hands would be bleeding and the whole thing would look like a mess if I tried to make anything like this. Good heavens, did you see that it is suppose to snow again? :(
ReplyDeleteCute! I've seen them in stores for $10 or $15. You should be very proud because it's a fun new accessory made by you. :)
