When it comes to Christmas decorating in the family room the girls and I like to mix things up...
A little something pretty. . .
A little something borderline tacky . . .
It's the room in the house that tends to get used the most during the winter months so I like to keep things simple, yet playful.
It's also my favorite place to display my growing collection of vintage decorations that lean towards the tacky side.
Which I'm loving more and more every year.
Of course we always throw in some handmade items like these cute glitter houses the girls made a few years ago - - they have quickly become a "must have" Christmas decoration, wouldn't be Christmas without them!
So we mix the pretty . . .
And the tacky . . .
Then sit back, relax and enjoy our fun space!
Bye now,
Robin
I don't think your vintage decorations are tacky at all! They are so charming and festive! I also love your plaid blanket and the mitten garland is so cute!!

Festive and vintage. I love it all.
ReplyDeleteReally cute. Your "tacky" decorations made me smile! I have the same Santa and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers. They belonged to my mother in law. I so enjoy your blog. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI looked and looked for tacky but never found it ;) Love your family room. And I always love your Christmas header, it's the best!

Gotta love a bit of that tacky! lol! I have a couple of the Santa boots and I love them as well. Pretty is lovely, but tacky is fun! Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
